This can go for a few ways with honestly everything right now. So, here we go.
Motivation sucks. Finding your drive and having it keep going is hard to do. When you spend time having a life and then throwing on planning, it’s next to impossible to keep it all up, trust me I know. But, there is many ways to do it so you don’t get burnt out, including taking time off to just relax. So, here is a few things that I personally do when I’m getting stressed out and just need a minute to just relax, if not longer.
My personal favorite, that I’ve been doing since I was younger, is sitting in a nice quiet place and just reading. It’s been a lot harder for me to recently with all that I am doing, but its so nice and relaxing. My current favorite is Wicked, and yes its partly because I love the broadway show of it, absolutely no shame in that. But, finding a book that you can get lost in can not only provide inspiration for when you’re planning your wedding but also a way to escape the reality of the world and escape the chaos of planning your wedding.
My next go to is taking a relaxing bubble bath. I’m honestly a shower girl, I will take showers until the day that I die, but taking a nice relaxing bubble bath, having Netflix playing on my computer, and just taking an hour to relax is something that you can get anywhere else. Bubble baths give you a chance to be alone in a calming, warm environment and to just take a break from it all. If you want to be extra savvy, turn off your phone for that time as well. There is nothing wrong with taking time to just yourself. Never be afraid to turn off your phone, no matter how much you have going on. If its someone or something important, they’ll leave a message.
Onto the next one! This is one that not many people like to do in all honesty and its working out. If it be putting on music or a podcast and going for a walk, going for a run, lifting weights, whatever your personal preference may be, working out is a major stress reliever! Being better for yourself, mind and body, and just getting rid of stress is so relaxing after. Bonus points if you take a bubble bath after, though I would say with this one a shower would be better.
Now, the last few are something I personally do when I am stressed out of my mind with planning, my full time job, and school. I cuddle my cats and talk to my support group. My cats are the biggest cuddle bugs in the world! They love to be around me no matter what I do to the point where I can’t do anything with them around. So, what I’ll usually do is get both my cats near by me and either talk to, text, or call anyone in my support group to just rant and talk things out to them. Once I get a chance to just get all my feelings out in the world, I feel so much better about everything! And yes, here is a picture of my cuddle bugs because they are too cute to just not share with the world!

With all of that being said though, everyone has different ways of relaxing and different ways of doing things. What may work with one person doesn’t always work with another person. Take what works best for you and modify it. Wedding planning is a stressful thing, no matter who is doing it. So make sure to take care of yourself so that you don’t stress yourself out so much that you can’t even enjoy it. It’s a process that you should love and enjoy. But at the same time, you still have the rest of forever together.
